County of Orange

• September 5, 2002 document from Huntington Beach resident Bob Dingwall explaining events leading up to the September 4, 2002 county letter.  When you know this recent history, the credibility of HB Public Works and the HB Planning Department does not look very good!
  
• September 4, 2002 letter from County Flood Control to the City of Huntington Beach stating that permits will be REQUIRED to expand the capacity of the Slater Pump Station by adding the two new Shea pumps.  This permit process has the potential to radically change the shape of the Shea project. Project planning should not be allowed to continue until these issues are resolved.
• May 27, 1998 letter from County Planning Department to the City of Huntington Beach stating in response to the Parkside DEIR that Shea improvements to the Slater Pump Station will REQUIRE a County permit.  Yet city staff continued to maintain no such permit is needed.

Public Works

• Slater Pump Station permit originally issued in 1964 for the initial 8 bays and 2 pumps, plus a 1967 rider covering pump #3.

In order to understand why the Shea Parkside property is currently a "white hole" or "Area of Deferred Certification" in the city's LCP, I have been collecting historical documents from two decades ago when the LCP was created (and the Shea Parkside property was then known as the MWD property).  Some of these documents may also be useful to understand current wetland issues in other areas of the city besides Parkside.
